DPX Overview COR®BON’s DPX® Handgun ammunition delivers superior performance compared to other defensive ammo on the market. This is thanks to the homogeneous solid copper projectile. In fact, “Barrier blind” is the term for ammunition that performs exceptionally well after penetrating heavy barriers like auto glass or steel. Importantly, DPX® is the only ammo that retains 100% of its weight after passing through such obstacles. Lead Free Restrictions All DPX bullets are certified lead free. They can be legally used in California. Bullet Anatomy The DPX bullet is made entirely of solid copper. Additionally, internal serration cuts replace traditional external serrations. These internal cuts allow the bullet to fully expand, doubling its diameter and creating six razor-sharp pedals. Penetration Testing Results COR®BON’s research and development team followed the FBI’s testing protocol to create the DPX® defensive line. As a result, the bullets achieved soft tissue penetration of 12–18 inches with reliable, consistent expansion. The recovered bullets maintained 100% of their original size and weight when fired through four layers of 10oz denim into 10% ballistic gelatin. Moreover, the permanent crush cavity is significantly larger than that of a typical JHP.
